Why does pokemon shinygold X start from scratch everytime I play it?
Every time I start up pokemon shinygold x on VBA (1.8) it starts a new game. This is not what it used to do as previously it allowed me to save it as a file in the emulator and I could only get to the elite 4 before it crashed due to that gay memory circuitboard failure. I've set it to Flash 128k and it saves in game but I can't open it from there.
Are you using save states rather then saving in the actual game. It helps to do both
Help with my Pokemon Heart Gold team!?
Yeah, I'm sure there's a million and a half of these question things out there, but god I am just so confused.

See, I'm a very indecisive person. The last I played Pokemon I was in fifth grade of Elementary school, so just coming back to it, this hardcore stuff is a bit..new.

I've read this guide a few times, www.pokemonelite2000.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68319 , and written down the personality/nature bonuses that all my pokemon get, just to have an idea of who is best where. I tend to have an aesthetic favor of certain pokemon as well. ... As well as an annoyance one. ( if I see another geodude in x cave over here, I am going to punch someone in the face, so I generally won't want to train one. )

Not that I'm very far in the game. I've just made it to the Indigo Plateau. But I'd like to get started training a good, solid party now. I started with a Chikorita, now Meganium, am considering a Jolteon for my electric type, Umbreon for dark, Scyther for bug, Jirachi for steel (although I think I read somewhere that legendaries create problems when using in wifi)... but that gives you an idea of some of my preferences. Sort of. ... And my Sunkern seems to have the move set for some kind of god of Leach-sleepers.

Anyway, if I'm missing any needed detail, lemme know. I know I can't share my entire collection of pokemon with you, and have you tell me what to pick and how to train it, but what I /would/ love to know is a good team to go for when beginning. If you clicked the link, anything in those terms would be great. Especially balance wise. I can see how they would work, but my mind is reeling at the choices, and I hardly know where to start. .. You might be able to tell that from this question. I've probably changed the focus like 13 times now 'cause I just don't know exactly how to ask it clearly. >.<

If you had this much trouble and found a way to get around it, I would love to hear how. I'm willing to work it out myself, I just really need a little guidance here.

Thanks in advance, sorry if any of the detail is unnecessary, and also, in advance, don't bother telling me "Dur har Pokemon gay m8" or "ur post is 2 long go eet a fish." You'll be wasting your precious, Yahoo Answerin' time.
u hav a pretty good team but after u beat u should catch a mewtwo
Pokemon Black: Snivy or Oshawott?
I might get pokemon black this weekend but I can't choose between choosing snivy or oshawott as my starter pokemon. I originally was gonna choose snivy because ever since pokemon diamond/pearl came out (exception of heartgold) i've been picking grass type. But i searched their final evolution base stats and i hate how serperior has such a low attack and hp. I think samurott's stats are more balanced. So now i can't choose :P
Which do you think is overall better? Please don't say snivy just because it looks the coolest since i know it's the most popular out of the 3.

Btw i'm a girl if u can't tell already. Also no unnecessary comments such as pokemon is gay and stupid -.-
Which did you people choose and why? x]
Hello! Help is on the way!

Well, like you said, Snivy is the most popular due to her/his looks, but he/she is a challenge to use. Her movepool only provides her mostly with Attacking Grass moves and supporting Poison moves. Pokemon Black and White are made up of Flying and Bug trainers.

OVERALL:If you want a challenge, pick Snivy.

Oshawott is a cute little...bear? Lol not sure. He has a great movepool and type coverage. He can learn great moves like Surf, IceBeam, GrassKnot, and MegaHorn(FInal Form) He has above average stats and will be able to take on different ypes of Pokemon.

OVERALL:
You want good type coverage? Pick Oshawott

Basically, it depends on you now on who you want to pick

Hope this helps gal! :)
(I'm also a girl!)

POKEMON FTW!!
Any help with my Pokemon Pearl battle tower team?
Ok first of all, if you think pokemon is gay and thats all ur gunna say as an answer, then leave now.

To the real thing now. My team is alright i guess but i need some advice if im going to get some good win streaks. Keep in mind this is a double battle team and its in the battle tower on pokemon pearl. Any advice would be great thanks.

Charizard @ Expert belt
1. Wing attack
2. Dragon Claw
3. Flamethrower
4. Blast Burn

Tyrannitar @ Blackglasses.
1. Crunch
2. Hyper Beam
3. Earthquake
4. Rock Slide

Blaziken @ Charcoal
1. Slash
2. Flamethrower
3. Sky Uppercut
4. Earthquake

Skeptile @ Miracle Seed/Luxray @ Zap Plate
1. Secret Power/Thunderbolt
2. X-Scissor/Discharge
3. Leaf Blade/Crunch
4. Leaf Storm/Iron Tail

I tend to switch over Luxray and Skeptile occasionally.
Charizard:
Solid moveset, but think about replacing Blast Burn with Fire Blast, just to prevent the lost recovery turn.

Tyranitar:
Replace Rock Slide with Stone Edge. Don't bother with Hyper Beam, Tyranitar's Attack stat is higher than its Special Attack stat, use Dragon Dance instead so your Tyranitar can sweep.

Blaziken:
Consider replacing Sky Uppercut with Superpower. Slash won't do much for Blaziken, use Vacuum Wave instead.

Sceptile:
Get rid of Secret Power and replace it with Dragon Pulse for strong, neutral damage against almost anything. Keep either X-Scissor or Leaf Blade, but not both (remember that Sceptile's Special Attack stat is higher than his Attack stat). Replace it with Energy Ball, as an alternative to Leaf storm, so you don't have the Special Attack drop. This one is a little iffy, since I haven't played with Sceptile, so check this site ( www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/sceptil… ) for better advice.

Luxray:
Nix either Thunderbolt or Discharge, having both is redundant (Thunderbolt has higher base power, but Discharge has a 30% chance of Paralysis, so I'd keep Discharge). Replace whichever one you nix with Ice Fang (to take out Ground Types).

Also, think about your team's cohesion. Tyranitar has the excellent ability Sand Stream, which whittles away at your opponents' health. However, it also hurts all your other Pokemon. I would consider adding another Ground, Steel, or Rock type to your team to prevent this (Lucario, Scizor, Metagross, Aerodactyl are all good options).

I would also think strongly about adding some Flying-types or Pokemon with Levitate, since half your Pokemon have Earthquake, which damages Blaziken and Luxray heavily, and Tyranitar when he's not the one doing it (of course, you do have Charizard).

Flygon is an ideal addition to your team, having the Levitate ability and being part Ground-type.

Hope this all helps, good luck with the Battle Tower!

So far my best streak is 40
Well an easy one you have 2 fire types that's never good I'd throw in a power full water type like Gyrados,Kingdra or Swampert. Also as a general rule a pokemon shouldn't have two of the same type of moves (E.G blast burn and flame thrower) but if it works for you more power to ya.

Tyranitar and Garchomp is a good combo. (Combine Chomps Sand Veil that increases his evasiveness in sandstorms and Tyranitars Sandstream) give Garchomp a bright powder and have him do some swords dances and you can take out pretty much anything.

Extra fun fact you may or may not know, sandstorm boost the special defense of any pokemon it doesn't hurt (steel, ground, rock,) so use that as a little extra incentive to add Garchomp

You may want to lay off these 2 move attacks that have you "rest" after their done Hyper beam on tyranitar seems like a bit much ( at least go with giga impact).

my strongest suggestion would be to replace Luxray/Sceptile with Gengar as your anti water. Gengar is a great sweeper and can learn thunderbolt with a tm. On top of that you can use tyranitars earthquake and not worry about hurting your own pokemon. and if thats not enough gengar can counter fighting types that destroy tyranitar if you teach it phycic. just swich tyranitar for gengar if you suspect a fighting move is comming ( or visa versa if you feel a phycic, ghost or dark move comming) . genar will absorb the hit and your opponent will have wasted a move. Lucario of course could mess this up but thats why you have that fire type.

so in summary
1.boot your least favorite fire type and add either a good water type or garchomp
2. add Gengar with thunderbot to your Sceptile/Luxray rotation.
-edit-
Oh yea I just realised with starmie you could kill 2 birds with one stone since it can learn thunderbolt phycic surf and ice beam. you wouldn't really beable to absorb fighting and ground moves like you could with gengar tho. id go with either one.
What are some things you hope will be in pokemon black and white:)?
ok, i for one am really syked that there will be TRIPE BATTLES in-game and outside of the game. i really think that pokemon is getting repetitive though.

1.)instead of player accidentally getting his starters, he should receive them as a gift from his dad or something since the player in the games is 16 years old.

2.)they should change the way you challenge the elite four, im' SO sick of the first battle, next battle, third battle, and champion battle routine when you fight the elite 4. if they will have triple battles, they should at least have an elite four double battle.

3.)don't you think that the bad guys/villains in the game just get stupider looking outfits every generation? now they have hoods with little x shaped stiching liek a teddy bear..

4.)OK, THEY REALLY REALLY NEED TO THINK UP THE POKEMON EVOLUTIONS BETTER! some pokemon look awesome but other look plain gay. like the grass starter was what i was gonna get but it's final evolution looks terrible compared to the fire type. the water type looks bad at first but it's final evolution looks pretty cool , it may replace dewgong from wifi battles. also, there is this pink ball shaped pokemon with flowers on it that looks bad, it evolves into what appears to be a baby with it's ambilical coard still on.

well that is it for this question. tell me what you want in the new games and, oh yeah, which player will you be playing as? i want to be the guy but the girl is hot. i know that sounds wrong but the girl player is hot as shyt. sorry. ok so just put ur answers below and thanks:)
Wouldn't it be awesome for you to travel to another region? Preferably Hoenn? Otherwise, what's the use of that Airport for? Come on, we've all wanted to have a Pokemon game that travels to all regions right?

I agree with the Elite 4 problem, no doubt about it.

I wish there was a way to buy ALL of the TM's using only Pokedollars. At least the TM's won't break anymore like those weak ones in previous games.

You know, come to think of it, the outfits really do look ridiculous. They better have a more epic storyline to make up with their goofiness.

LOL! I agree, the girl is pretty good looking and a lot more better looking than the others. At least they make the age more appropriate for the storyline since 10 year old guyren are just too young to take care of themselves.

All the best! Lets hope that some of these will happen.

Again, it isnt a team. it is just random pokemon. i dont want anyone telling me i should get rid of any. i just need improvements on what i have

And i dont care if people say "OMG u play pokemon you must be a 5 year old gay." Its a decent past time for me

Cheers in advance
First of all, about your battle against pokettomon, I forgot something to add. give lanturn spit up which does 300 damage with 3 stockpiles.

Dodrio-

Flail is way too situational. the only reason you would use it is with a focus sash at 1 hp. endure is kind of a waste. endure is used by pokemon with toxic, will-o-wisp and stuff to waste time and let the foe die. this is not your case. Plucking berries isn't useful because most experienced trainers will be using focus sash, plate, or berries that cure stat problem like if they use rest. yeah sorry but steel wing is the only atk I like here. suggestions: drill peck, roost, rest with sleep talk, agilty, etc.

Pinsir-

great choice of moves and nature. but if you don't want a bug type move, giga impact is good for a last resort before dying.

Relicanth-

to be honest, its attack stat isn't that great, so i would rather use it as a strategical annoyer/ tank for you blissey if you have one/ trap setter.

a good moveset is toxic, stealth rock ( alot more useful than spikes), yawn, and rest.

Vespiquen-

Best Vespiquen movesets there is, nothing more to add.

Gastrodon-

I think that the countering moves are double the amount of hp deducted x2 so the more hp the better. if possible, you should train its hp EV to max. what people do once they figure out you use countering moves is they buff themselves and force you to switch out another pokemon or make you waste PP. the countering moves have very low pp. What I did is I used Gastrodon with the counters, then stockpile and spit up ( both egg moves). spit up's damage depends on you stockpile. at 1, its 100, at 2 its 200, at 3, its 300 (max). ppl thought I was buffing up to tank better than I hit them with 300 power. its like double hyper beam. spit up is a special move and gastrodon has decent spec atk. for gastrodon to learn stockpile and spit up, breed it with a drifblim that knows both moves.

Magcargo

the powers and recover is good, overall is great. the only advice I would give is that if you are planning to fight in a lv 100 battle, use lava plume instead fire blast because when all pokemon are 100, moves that are not 100 acc will miss more frequently. also, lava plumes chance of burning is 30% while fire blast is 10%

I would drop a prinplup and and dusclops for two rare candies.
Forget the potions and add some Roseann's research.

Lastly, add a Broken Time Space stadium card.

Good cards, but the set-up is too slow.

I'd say bout an 8; I like to have some that don't evolve to put them out on the field at full power such as legendaries or shinings, but other than that you have a pretty good deck. But I've never been to a tournament before so I wouldn't know if it was worthy or not.

I don't cheat and anyone who would make something like this should not be allowed to battle others as they are cheaters so every victory they have is a fake one.

Work in it yourself. Not hack, breed them yourself. People spend days, weeks even, trying to get a pokemon with IV's like that. Your tactic is cheap and undermines our work and no self respecting player would bother with you or battle with you knowing what you did. I despise hackers in this regard as I do take the time.
